time tracking alternatives

Compare TrackingTime to
other time tracking tools.

Every alternative below solves part of the problem. Here’s what each one leaves out, and where TrackingTime fills the gap.

Toggl | Clockify | Harvest | Timely | TimeCamp | Hubstaff | Everhour

Toggl

Toggl Track is one of the most recognized time trackers in the category, with a well-built one-click timer. But its free plan caps out at 5 users, and there’s no way to track retainers or log expenses at any price, including its $18 Premium plan. TrackingTime matches Toggl’s tracking experience, costs about half as much at every paid tier, and includes both from day one.

Clockify

Clockify is one of the cheapest time trackers on the market, with a free plan that supports unlimited users and projects. The tradeoff: its Pro plan adds screenshots, GPS tracking and kiosk photo capture, built for monitoring a workforce, not running an agency. TrackingTime costs a small premium, but stays privacy-first, with dedicated retainer tracking and unlimited external client logins built for agencies.

Harvest

Harvest is known for turning tracked hours into invoices, with a mature payments ecosystem. Since its acquisition by Bending Spoons, pricing has shifted to usage-based fees on invoices, projects, clients and tasks, some reviewers report increases up to 600%. TrackingTime keeps the same workflow at one flat per-user price, no usage fees, ever.

Timely

Timely’s Memory tracker and AutoSheet use AI to draft a near-complete timesheet automatically, the best hands-off tracking in the category. That comes at the highest price around, $9 to start, $22 at the top, no free plan, and GPS on every plan. TrackingTime automates capture too, at roughly half the price, with task management included and no location data collected.

TimeCamp

TimeCamp is a low-cost way to start automatic time tracking, using keyword and window detection to log work without a timer. But its AI tracker is billed separately by token usage, roughly $6/user/mo, and there’s no project management at any price. TrackingTime includes automatic tracking with no metered fee, plus a board, timeline and company-wide project view from Starter.

Hubstaff

Hubstaff is built for monitoring a distributed or field-based workforce, with screenshots, activity scoring and GPS as core features. It also has no free plan, a 2-seat minimum, and separate add-ons for task management and GPS. TrackingTime takes the opposite approach: no monitoring, free for unlimited users, with project management and client logins included.

Everhour

Everhour embeds a native timer directly inside tools like Asana, ClickUp, Jira and Trello, one of the smoothest in-context tracking experiences available. But its Team plan bills a minimum of 5 seats, so a 3-person team pays for five ($42.50/mo), and its free plan excludes every integration. TrackingTime charges only for active users, no seat minimum, with integrations included on the free plan.
