TrackingTime Product Updates: 2021 Recap

Over the first half of 2021, we have been hard at work to make your work life easier. Everyone will agree that 2020 was a year of many changes. So, we took those changes as an opportunity to provide you with a better user experience. In case you missed it, here are the latest product updates. Let’s check out all the cool new features we’ve released so far this year.

Improved Project Management

Take a Look at the Big Picture

We are aware that people might prefer one way or another to visualize their projects. That’s why you can now display your projects both in list view and in board view. Accordingly, you may easily switch from the list to the board view, which is based on Kanban. As a result, task lists will appear as columns and tasks as cards. Drag and drop, assign, edit and delete as needed. Additionally, you can select from among these views which one is better for you and make it the default for future projects.

Furthermore, you can make sure your team is always in sync by adding guidelines, overviews, and explanations with Project Notes. And you can add details, lists, links, and helpful information with Task Descriptions. Additionally, we’ve redesigned the task details view to make it easier to collaborate and visualize all relevant information.

Share Files with Your Team

You can upload any type of file and attach it to your tasks, comments, and time entries. Add documents, images, videos, and screenshots to enhance collaboration or for self-organization. 

To make the most of this feature, you can upload files up to 100MB each in PRO accounts with a maximum of 10GB per user and 5MB per file up to 100MB total in Free accounts.

A Better User Experience

The new project view displays all the information in tabs, for a better visualization. In this way, you can easily access boards, files, lists, notes, and reports, enjoying a seamless workflow that improves project management. Organize your projects to encourage and improve team collaboration, while keeping an eye on progress and identifying bottlenecks.

If you’d like to display projects in the board view, simply select the option “board”, or change an existing project to the “board” tab at any time.

Additionally, you can save time, reduce your workload and manage your work efficiently by editing tasks in a batch. Add tasks to projects, assign users, and estimate time and due dates. Furthermore, duplicate, delete, or mark them as done in bulk.

Boards are so versatile that they let you organize tasks and goals by teams, visualize workflows and project stages, and structure a project by time periods, among other things.

Custom Fields

Custom fields allow you to track virtually anything across your TrackingTime projects to meet your exact company needs, resulting in fully customized reports. This way you can add relevant information to customers, projects, tasks,and time entries, to manage your work more efficiently.

By adding custom fields, you have a whole new range of options for customizing your reports:

Sort and classify tasks, set priorities, and modify task or project status. Furthermore, you can provide additional data, such as internal company codes, to make the management process more efficient. 

Use categories to identify the place from which your employees work, such as WFH for those working from home, ON SITE for those working at the office, and OFF SITE for those attending client meetings.

Additionally, you can use custom fields to assign clients and services to your projects.

Employee and Client Database

An interesting way to use custom fields is to build employee or client databases. 

For employees, it might be useful to add fields that include their entry date, birthday, contract type, employee file number, or other relevant data, such as the distinction between freelancers and in-house employees.

Consequently, it may be helpful to include fields to capture client information, such as their address, tax information, contractual terms, etc.

Building these kinds of databases with custom fields can give you an edge to better manage HR and client portfolios and stay on top of everything happening in your company, whether we are talking about your employees or your clients.

Efficient Business Reporting

Shared Reports

An easy yet professional way to create, customize, track and share your work. Create time reports with high visual impact in just a few minutes. Set your own headings, descriptions, colorful charts, and create a private or public link to share your time reports. 

Share a link to your Dashboard, Timesheets and Project Reports. You can now customize the layout and design of your reports and include professional time charts. Save and access your reports in the new Docs tab and manage views, permissions and editions. Depending on your needs, you can either make reports private or public.

Scheduled Events

Now you may add upcoming events and mark them as done only if they took place. Ideal for team and client meetings. Stay on top of everyone’s schedule and keep your team on the same page.

Invoices

Create and share professional invoices with customized templates and share them online with your clients. As many other complementary features that we offer, you can enable Invoicing in Add-Ons to create and customize your invoices according to your needs and share them with your clients. Additionally, change the invoice status from draft to complete before sharing, and manage open invoices by changing the status to paid, void, uncollectible, or revert to draft.
